Features
Over the past few years, there has been a dramatic increase in gas station credit card skimming. Criminals have been opening & inserting skimming devices in unattended PIN-entry devices at gas stations nationwide. The criminals can then download personal information from credit/debit cards leading to identity theft.
In order to combat this problem, gas pump tamper-evident labels have been developed as a simple and cost effective way to lower fraud.
Applications
The gas pump tamper-evident label is placed on fuel dispensers near the credit/debit card transaction area. If the label is lifted to insert a credit card skimming device, a "VOID" message appears on the tamper-evident label providing a visual alert to gas station employees. Additonally, the labels clearly indicate they are being used to prevent tampering; assuring customers that their data is secure & discouraging criminals of credit card skimming.
